AFTER HOURS CALLS / EMERGENCIES
In case of a life-threatening emergency or a very serious accident, call 911 or go to the Emergency Room for immediate help.
Our physicians and staff are committed to providing quality health care for your child. One way to do this is to provide emergency medical advice. After normal business hours the phones are forwarded to our answering service Monday thru Saturday and on Sundays.
For non-life threatening emergencies after hours, please call 859-371-7400 or 1-866-985-5663 to reach the doctor on call through our answering service. After a brief greeting the operator will take the necessary information. It is important that you clearly state your child’s name, complaint and the phone number where you can be reached. One of our pediatricians will return your call within 20 minutes. Please keep your phone readily available. If your call is not returned within 20 minutes, please call back.
Our physicians do not recommend walk in clinics and most urgent care facilities. These facilities do not have important medical information regarding your child and most providers in these settings do not have adequate pediatric training. We are happy to help you decide if an after-hours visit is needed. Often times, if your child needs to be seen, our doctor will schedule a time to have your child seen at the office on a Sunday morning. If an urgent care is needed they recommend using the urgent care at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center at either the main campus on Burnet Avenue or in Anderson Township. CHMC Urgent Care
- Non-urgent calls such as prescription refills and common illnesses should wait until regular office hours.
