In case of a life threatening emergency or very serious accident, call 911 for immediate help. For other urgent problems during the regular office hours, please notify the operator that it is an emergency and your phone call will be handled promptly. For emergencies after hours, please call (859) 371-7400.
If you have a true emergency requiring an emergency room visit, (i.e. stitches, asthma, seizure) most insurance companies allow you 24 hours to notify our offices. However, if you take your child to the emergency room for minor illnesses (i.e. sore throat, colds, and ear aches) many companies will deny your claim.
For your convenience below is a list of common illnesses that we feel are not urgent and should wait until office hours:
- Sore throat
- Ear ache
- Sunburn
- Chicken pox
- Diarrhea
- Nose bleeds
- Congestion
- Cough
- Constipation
- Minor injuries
- Behavior problems
- Runny nose
- Lice
- Thrush
- Diaper rash
- Chronic complaints (i.e. headaches for weeks)
